Loved it from first load. Love Bruce Campbell's voice in this game. The Evil Dead guy! King of Thieves! I was surprised to find this game on steam after all this time. kept it in my wishlist for a few months and finally took a chance. $10, big deal ya know. And to my delight the game works. multiplayer is probaly long gone and don't work but single player works and story line is great. This game was released in 2000. It's NOT Star Trek Online or anything that will knocked your socks off. But, it downloaded very fast and works and don't need updates or bug fixes. This game come from a time when a game was released on CD and it had to be done right before going on the shelves. If you like older games that were ahead of their own times and hate buying DLC's to get ahead of the game in a holosexual enviorment play this game and don't be a wuss. It's fun!. the graphics are not amazing it is still (in my opinion) beautifully and even if you don't agree it is hugely made up for by the game play. although it can be a little repetitive / predictable at times (but so are all other games) there is essentially 2 long enjoyable campaigns in a huge world with some fun side missions and a huge ship customising system with loads of different weapon types and ships. by today's standards there is still allot of variety. by the standard's of the day it was released it was phenomenal.. This game is cool 'cause it wasn't Freelancer.. To be honest, in space sims all i care about are good dialogues mixed with good music and combat.This game has all of these, without all the extra headaches of managing anything (besides weapons, but those are always cool right?).Not to mention the voice acting is exceptional, which is very important to me.Overall this game is an unappreciated gem, it would be amazing to see a remastered version, or even better - a seuqel.. Yet again, another game from steam which is riddled with issues. I suppose Windows 8 is as much to blame, but I can't recall having ever purchased a game from steam that has worked 100% correctly, if at all. It is a credit to my own stupidity that I keep wasting my money with them. So to begin with, to even get the game playable, took me a couple of hours of research and tweaking. Then it seems at last, once I fixed the graphical issues, the game is still completely unplayable with the mouse. I was hoping for a joystick game so this isn't such a huge issue, but be advised, that at best, after quite a bit of tinkering, the game will not ever function completely right in windows 8 as far as I can tell. If anyone has a fix for the mouse issue, please respond!. This is one of my favorite games ever. I wish they did a remake of it. Storyline and gameplay are awsome. You can choose sides between the coprs of the rebels. Game is old so graphics are from the times. Great game!
